Seaplanes are the only way to reach most outer-atoll resorts, and return fares typically run $400–$820 per adult — a genuine second airfare hidden behind a room rate. Children aged 2–11 usually get 30–40% off. If that number is the dealbreaker, we'll steer you to a near-Malé island where a shared speedboat costs $100–$490 return and runs 24 hours a day.

Seaplanes fly in daylight only, roughly 6am to 4pm. Land after about 3pm and you're overnighting near the airport — commonly $80–$150 that nobody mentions at booking. We check your flight times before we quote and either include the hotel night in your price or move you to a resort you can reach after dark.

Three separate charges stack on a Maldives resort bill: a 10% service charge, then 17% TGST calculated on top of it, then green tax of $12 per person per night at resorts ($6 at guesthouses, and under-2s are exempt). Together the first two add around 27% to everything you spend on the island — including the meal-plan upgrade.

It depends entirely on how you drink. Resort à la carte prices run about $10–$15 a beer, $16–$22 a cocktail and $30–$60 for lunch, and the all-inclusive upgrade typically costs $120–$170 per person per night before the 27% is applied to it.
